In this episode we interview Thibaud Clement, CEO of Loomly, the Brand Success Platform that empowers marketing teams to collaborate, publish, and measure. Before starting Loomly, Thibaud and his wife Noémie took a trip around the world to interview entrepreneurs in the technology sector to learn from their experience and create new ideas for the market. The trip proved to be one of the most transformational experiences of their lives.
How did Loomly start?
Thibaud and his wife Noémie, who is also his business partner, were previously owners of a marketing agency managing large international brands like L'Oréal. They realized there was a need and a better way to create, approve, and schedule online content.
How the one-year vacation happened:
When Thibaud was in Canada for a one-year accelerated MBA program, he met the founders of Shopify. His time abroad and new found interest in technology startups reinforced his decision to travel around the world with his wife for one year. Not only did they get to see the world, and network with other entrepreneurs, but they also were able to start their first online business - an e-commerce candy store.
Biggest lesson learned from the trip:
Thibaud is very thankful to have networked with very well known thought leaders like Seth Godin. The trip also created their first business - the ecommerce candy store. They also published a book about their experience about launching a business. Ultimately, you can’t tell what’s to come when you start working on something, and that is exciting.
